Does ChatGPT recommend local businesses?
Yes. When someone asks ChatGPT who the best merchant, wholesaler or tradesperson is in their town, it searches the web and names a few businesses. It usually picks the ones it finds mentioned on review sites, directories, local news and their own well-written website.
How does this free AI check work?
It asks ChatGPT and Perplexity three questions a real customer in your town would ask, like who the best one near them is. Then it checks every answer for your business name or your website. You see each answer, whether you were named, and which sites AI was reading.
Why doesn't AI mention my business?
Usually one of three things. Your website doesn't clearly say what you sell and where. Your name isn't on the sites AI trusts, like directories, supplier stockist pages and review sites. Or you have too few recent reviews. All three are fixable.
Are AI answers the same every time?
No. Ask the same question twice and you can get a different list. That's why one check is a snapshot, and why the monthly report asks each question several times and gives you a percentage.
